Memory Verse January #3
January #3. Genesis 3:15
[15] I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise [literally ‘crush’] your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15 ESV)
[Context: This verse is central to whole Bible story, and it reminds me daily that I am in a war.
I have an enemy who hates my Lord and me because I connected to Jesus, who in self-sacrifice has given his life for me to win my ultimate victory. This verse helps me behold the cross – where I go when I am tempted to doubt the love of God, or have anxiety about the future. The truth of this passage; this promise; given right at the moment of our first parents rebellion, tells me much about our God! Then I can set my eyes on Jesus, the son of the Most High and the son of Mary, and submit to Him and humbly say along with Mary, in Luke 1:38 “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” It is a privilege and a joy to give my life and body and service to the One who gave his life and body and service to me!
Luke 1:38 is a great bonus verse if you would like.
